Director's Blog

Being Creative Director of Quattro Gallery is becoming an inimitable experience. Little did I know, when interviewing for this position, that Dennis Quaid would appear at our reception for Profiles in Power, or that we would represent phenomenal artists like astrophotographer Russell Croman, who gave us a live tour of the heavens during our reception for Out of This World, on a remote feed from his observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico.

While several of the exhibitions are themed exhibitions of my design, they can still take on a life of their own. At this time, we anticipate our World Photography exhibit to show at the Audi Forum in New York on Leap Year’s. We have selected this date to coincide with Art Expo, and have industry passes for our featured artists to experience this International event. Who knows? One of our artists may be presenting there next year. The trajectory of my co-curator for this exhibit, Greg Davis, places him solidly on track for national recognition, unless, as is equally likely, he is traveling in Tibet at that time. It has been a pleasure and an honor to work with Greg and with our other featured photographers from this show, including Faustinus Deraet, Lesley Nowlin, and David Stein.

From the beginning, I knew my partnership with the owner of Quattro Gallery was going to be a real grassroots-to-global experience. I had been hosting art events at my house in Hyde Park while he had been traveling the world, attending board meetings for his various automotive dealerships. His dream would be to run the gallery himself, had he not been so busy. He has allowed me to manifest every dream I have, while adding his own into the mix.

While some say that having an art gallery in an automotive dealership is ‘weird’, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
